My name is Melissa A. Kotačka (please call me Melissa). I am the founder, owner, and primary consultant for Bull City College and Career. I started my college admissions career in 2008, and bring a range of experiences to my work. Consulting allows me to focus on the part of this work I love most: having meaningful conversations about what you want out of an application cycle; helping you navigate the daunting landscape of college admissions and/or a job search; and holding space for your questions, even the “silly” ones.
I do this work in addition to my full-time job*, which means that my services are most appropriate for those who are self-driven yet could use some guidance and support. In my ideal client relationship, I follow your lead: you let me know what you need as you need it, we talk through your questions and puzzles, and I offer perspective and advice, which you incorporate into your work. I don’t hover and I won’t chase you down with reminders about deadlines and to-dos, and I will meet you where you are, every time we meet.

Rate structure
Simplicity matters. Services are offered on a pay-as-you-go, as-needed basis, with hourly rates pro-rated to the minute for synchronous and asynchronous work.
